In the deep quiet of the night sea, a school of squid glides like living light through the darkness. Their forms move in harmony, swift, elegant, and almost otherworldly, illuminated by flashes of iridescent blues, violets, silvers, and electric hints of green that seem to glow from within.

Inspired by the wonder of a night dive, Calamardos captures that rare underwater spectacle where darkness becomes a stage for nature’s hidden brilliance. The painting is filled with movement, mystery, and luminous color,  an ocean ballet of fleeting shadows and fluorescence, as beautiful as it is impossible to fully describe.
