About the Artist
Art has been Ingrid’s passion in all its forms for as long as she can remember. Movement, music, visual expression and nature have influenced the way she creates. Art is present in everything she does; it is not separate from her life, but woven into it.
In the early 1990s, guided by a deep curiosity to explore and experience the world beyond the familiar, she served as a crew member aboard the Institute of Ecotechnics’ research vessel Heraclitus, sailing from Venezuela to Belize. Being part of that expedition, living closely with the sea and within a committed team, deepened her respect for the natural world and strengthened values of balance, discipline, and cooperation that continue to define who she is.
She grew up near the ocean. Later, she became a diver and had the privilege of modeling underwater for renowned photographer Gonzalo Arcila, appearing in several Mexican publications. Experiencing the underwater world from within, surrounded by coral, light, and silence, profoundly refined her sense of color, depth, and space.
Today, Ingrid serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Ecotechnics and as Media Project Manager.
She divides her time between Akumal, Mexico and Santa Fe, New Mexico. between ocean and desert. Both landscapes influence her in many ways: the depth and rhythm of the sea, the clarity and stillness of the desert.
Painting is one of the ways she gives form to what moves her most deeply, but creativity itself remains at the center of her life.
The ocean continues to be her greatest teacher. Caring for the natural world has always been an essential part of her life, and its depth, mystery, and quiet strength remain present in her spirit.
